Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using sbttlo ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

sbttlo provides AI-powered audio transcription, translation, and vocabulary extraction for language learning purposes. We offer free and paid subscription tiers as described on our pricing page.

3. Account Registration

• You must provide a valid email address and verify it to activate your account.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to create an account.
• One account per person. Do not share accounts.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload audio that you do not have the right to transcribe (e.g., copyrighted material without permission)
• Upload audio containing illegal, abusive, defamatory, or hateful content
• Use the Service to process private conversations of others without their consent
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits through automation, scripting, or account farming
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service or its outputs

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of all audio files and content you upload. By uploading, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely to provide the Service.

We do not use your audio or transcripts to train AI models. Transcripts and shareble links are visible to anyone with the link — do not share sensitive recordings.

6. Subscription and Billing

• Free tier features are provided as-is with no guaranteed uptime.
• Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your account settings.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.
• Failed payments result in account downgrade to free tier after a 7-day grace period.

7. Usage Limits

Each tier has monthly transcript quotas and per-file duration caps. These limits reset on the same calendar day each month (your billing date). Limits are a hard cap: once reached, additional uploads will be rejected until the next period.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Free-tier transcripts expire 24 hours after creation. Paid-tier transcripts are retained while your subscription is active plus a 14-day grace period after cancellation or payment failure.

You may delete any transcript at any time or delete your entire account via Account → Danger Zone. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, its design, code, and branding are owned by sbttlo. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our express written permission.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

The Service is provided "as is." AI-generated transcriptions and translations are not guaranteed to be accurate. We are not liable for errors in generated content.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, sbttlo's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time from your Account settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We will notify you by email 14 days before any material change to these Terms. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which sbttlo is registered. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration unless prohibited by applicable law.
